CARLTON'S opponent for Round 6 has been locked in.

The AFL announced the next week of the rolling fixture, with Round 7 also to be announced in the coming days.

Carlton will host Sydney at the MCG on Sunday 12 July, with the game to be broadcast on Channel 7 in Victoria.

It will mean that the Blues will play three consecutive games at the MCG by Round 6, as they host the Swans at the home of football for the first time since 2016.

Carlton will take on Essendon this Saturday night, with its Round 5 fixture against St Kilda also to take place at the MCG on Saturday 4 July.
