The free agency period doesn’t officially open until tomorrow, but already rumours are rife about possible movement at Carlton.

The Club has confirmed Eddie Betts has signalled his intention to explore his options, with Adelaide today confirming its interest in the small forward.

Carlton Recruiting Manager Shane Rogers says it’s disappointing because the Blues wanted to keep the talented forward.

“We think we tried pretty hard, we made a reasonable offer in our view,” Rogers said.

“He’s going to be a loss because he’s a well loved figure within the supporting group, in the playing group and with the staff, so we tried our best but unfortunately it wasn’t to be.”

Collingwood midfielder Dale Thomas remains a hot proposition, with speculation the restricted free agent may be looking to don the Navy Blue.

Rogers says no deal has been done, but one is in the pipeline.

“We think over the weekend he (Thomas) will come to a decision with him and his manager and then the process will start,” Rogers said.

Meanwhile the Blues expect Heath Scotland to reach a decision on his future on Monday. The 33-year-old is still unsure if he wants to play on next season.
