Carlton veteran Heath Scotland has told SEN’s Morning Glory program that the Blues will take belief into Saturday night’s do-or-die Semi Final clash with Sydney.
Scotland said two comeback wins against Richmond and Port Adelaide in successive weeks had given the side the belief that they could win from any position.
“It was fantastic obviously to get the result in front of a packed MCG crowd,” Scotland said.
“We got a bit of a run on and a bit of a sniff and you could just sense the boys were up and about, so we just went from there.
“We’ve got genuine belief in our game plan and our structures. Mick (Malthouse) has come in and coached us all year to play a finals brand of football and we feel this type of football stands up at this time of the year.”
The 33-year old said the group were hopeful of reversing the result from last time they took on Sydney in Round 14; an encounter that saw the Blues go down by 22-points in the wet.
“The confidence from the last couple of games no doubt has really lifted the boys and key players have found form when they might have been down in the middle of the year,” Scotland said.
“We certainly respect Sydney and we are not looking at them as if they have dropped off the pace; they are the reigning premier and a class side and there is no doubt they are going to bring their best football."
