Carlton's Kade Simpson is preparing to part ways with his much talked about beard, after surpassing his goal of raising $10,000 for Down Syndrome Victoria. 

As of this morning, the fundraising total had reached $11,233 plus an additional $10,000 from Shaver Shop. 

Simpson began growing his beard at the end of last year and it wasn't long before the beard took on a life of it's own, with Twitter and Facebook accounts set up in its honour. 

Now it's time for Simmo's Beard to make way for Simmo's Chin – although #FeartheChin doesn't quite have the same ring to it!
