Fresh from their 36 point win over the Saints on Saturday night, the Blues spent Monday attending a recovery session at the St Kilda Sea Baths.
The Carlton Football Club's Rehabilitation Coach, Jason Patten says there are many benefits to this.
"It aims to reduce the residual effects of muscle soreness, general fatigue and the stress from playing football at an elite level. Furthermore it may help stimulate the sensory system."
Prior to going into the water, Patten says the players take part in a light skills session.
"We do some jogging to warm up and get the muscles and joints moving with light exercise."
Once entering the ocean, Patten says the players make use of the therapeutic properties of the water.

"Firstly salt water might benefit the skin, relax muscles and reduce perceived muscle soreness. Additionally we walk through the water which is an active form of moving the muscles and joints. This may further aid recovery."
Patten says being in a different environment also helps the players to freshen up.
"It can help psychologically by taking them outside the Club where they spend a lot of time."
