A Carlton fan studying in Arizona got more than he bargained for after turning out to watch the team train at Northern Arizona University.
 
Joshuah Jenner, who describes himself as a “mad Carlton supporter”, got up close with the team before coach Mick Malthouse presented him with a football.
 
Jenner says he has supported the Blues since 2003, after a chance encounter with players at the airport as the team departed for Perth.
 
The South Australian says in 2014 he’s most looking forward to seeing Dale Thomas and Cam Giles debut in the navy blue.
 
“Daisy, he’s going to be good,” Jenner said. “And Cam Giles – he’s from the same town as me so I’m definitely excited about seeing him play.”
