This week on The Two Tones, co-hosts Tony Moclair and Tony De Bolfo dissect the Blues’ 36-point loss to the Western Bulldogs, toast Carlton’s latest Hall of Fame inductees and look ahead to Round 5 against Fremantle.
Though the team continues to commit to the contest and “back themselves” in the competition, it wasn’t enough to beat the Bulldogs in Round 4.
According to Moclair and De Bolfo, falls in decision-making and ball use across the ground affected results and contributed to the loss.
Despite the disappointment, “Brendon Bolton commended the team for hanging in” and supporters respected the “grit” and “determination” of the players, despite nine missed shots at goal.
Moclair and De Bolfo singled out Liam Sumner for being “a lively little player” and Lachie Plowman, dubbed “Mr. Versatility”, for keeping Jake Stringer goalless and proving himself a defender who can tackle opponents of all sizes.
Looking forward, the Blues can expect a tough game against Fremantle this week in Perth. Coach Bolton has them “playing a super-attacking brand of footy” that they hope will help them beat the Dockers on their home soil.
He and the Carlton Football Club continue to create a supportive, nurturing environment for players, helping promising young talent transition into powerful household names - not unlike Chris Judd, who the boys mention is expecting twins with wife Rebecca.
Another two Judds are on the way! Congrats to @cjayfive and his family on the exciting news, and here's to happy and healthy twins!

In other Carlton news, more players are set to be inducted into the Carlton Hall of Fame on April 29, with Scott Camporeale, Mil Hanna, Ian Robertson and Jack Rout (dec.) the latest to receive the honour.
Camporeale, Hanna and Robertson are renowned contributors to the Club, playing courageously and taking Australia by storm with their AFL prowess.
The lesser-known Rout played for Carlton throughout the 30s and 40s, and in later life became “a great man behind the scenes, a man who was truly respected by people who with whom he worked”.
One outstanding premiership player will be elevated to Legend status on the night.
