Midfielder Mitch Robinson will miss Carlton's Round 10 clash with Adelaide at the MCG after accepting a one-match ban for striking.

Robinson was reported for striking St Kilda's Jack Newnes during the third quarter of Monday night's match at Etihad Stadium.

The AFL's Match Review Panel assessed the incident as reckless, medium impact and high contact.

If Robinson challenged the charge and lost he would have risked a two-match suspension.

In means the 25-year-old will next be available for selection for Carlton's Round 11 clash with Brisbane at the Gabba.
