OVERVIEW
Season 2014 saw Troy Menzel emerge as an exciting young talent who finds the football and makes smart decisions with his use of it. The 20-year-old played 19 games for the Blues this season and kicked an impressive 26 goals.
Among Menzel’s most memorable moments was his stunning swoop, gather and goal to seal a three-point win over the West Coast Eagles in Round 6.
The Blues’ No. 2 capped off his year by earning a NAB AFL Rising Star nomination for his performance in Carlton’s 85-point win over St Kilda in Round 16.

HE SAID IT
“It’s come up a little bit, yeah, the supporters always say how did it feel kicking the winning goal? But I’ve actually forgotten about that one, it didn’t even come to mind. When it went through it was a pretty surreal feeling. Coming back from five goals down in the last quarter and just getting over the top of them was pretty unreal.”
