Carlton's Dennis Armfield has enjoyed a winning return to the senior side, as the Blues defeated St Kilda by 32-points at Etihad Stadium on Monday night.
The Blues won 15.11.(101) to the Saints 9.15.(69).
Playing in his first AFL game for 2014, Armfield finished with 12 disposals including two marks and six tackles, while he restricted St Kilda's Jack Steven to just four kicks.
The 27-year-old told CFC TV that the support he received from his teammates prior to the match made the transition back to senior footy much smoother.
"It's great to be back," Armfield said.
"The boys were really welcoming before the game and they really backed me, which has been good for the confidence.
"Everyone really played their role and and that's how we got the win."
Armfield enjoyed his most consistent season yet in 2013 and was one of just five Carlton players to run out in every game for the year.
But an injury interrupted pre-season saw him start this year on the sidelines, before returning through Carlton's VFL affiliate the Northern Blues.
"I pretty much had to go back to the twos and earn my spot, but I'm all for that – you've got to earn your spot back into this side," Armfield said.
"I've had a few weeks in the twos and now I'm here, and hopefully I can hold this spot."
