Carlton's recruiting team were all smiles on the Gold Coast after snaring the talent they were after in the 2014 NAB AFL National Draft.
The Blues used selections 19, 28, 60 and 63 to select Blaine Boekhorst, Dillon Viojo-Rainbow, Clem Smith and Jayden Foster.
Carlton's National Recruiting Manager Shane Rogers says he's had his eyes on 21-year-old Boekhorst for the past few years.
"He played senior footy for the Swan Districts, we've been watching him for three or four years," said Rogers.
"This year he's really come on in leaps and bounds. He played state footy and we think he's just about ready to go.
"Blaine's a running midfielder. He'll be able to play wing, half-back and through the midfield - he's very quick and if he comes in he'll be one of our fastest players.
"We've said all along that we have wanted to address our outside speed, run and ball use – so that's three things that he brings to the table. So we're looking forward to him starting."
Meanwhile Dillon Viojo-Rainbow's versatility and penetrating kick was what attracted Rogers when it came to selecting him at pick 28.
"He's a beautiful left-foot kick," Rogers said.
"Predominately he played on the wing through his junior career. He's branched out into the midfield late in his TAC year and he's played across half-back for Vic Metro.
"He's a really versatile player that uses the ball well. If we can get his stamina up a little bit, he should be able to go through the midfield and he's got a harder edge to his game."
Western Australian Clem Smith was selected by the Blues at pick 60. At the age of just 17, Smith was named in the 2013 All Australian Under 18s team and had played 10 senior games for Perth in the WAFL.
Rogers says this experience will put him in good stead for senior selection.
"He's definitely impressive," said Rogers.
"He's been playing senior footy this whole year, so that's a really good effort.
"He's (also) played state footy. He played predominately half-back (but) we see him really as that hard-nosed on-ball full-forward."
Carlton's fourth selection Jayden Foster was chosen with pick 63.
The 19-year-old from the Calder Cannons impressed during his reign in the TAC Cup, kicking 49 goals from 16 games.
"Jayden's 196(cm), really athletic, lean and fit.
"He should be able to play almost a Jack Guston-type role – a third tall and run around, and use his speed for a big fella.
"He's got nice hands and he's a beautiful left-foot kick."
