Last week was a big one for Blues fans who "fear the beard," with Carlton vice-captain Kade Simpson inking a new deal.
The two-year contract extension will keep Simpson at Carlton until at least the end of 2016.
It's means the 29-year-old looks set to stay a one-club player – and speaking to CFC TV Simpson said that's something that means a great deal to him.
"It's obviously a big thrill," Simpson said of being a Blue-bagger for life. "It's something you probably don't think about until it actually happens, so I'm just really happy (to be) a one club player for my whole career."
Under coach Mick Malthouse, Simpson last year took on a new role in Carlton's back line.
It's a role Simpson has relished in and Carlton's reigning John Nicholls Medalist agrees he is in the most consistent form of his 201-game AFL career.
