Trade Wrap: Jaksch may struggle to get to Carlton

GREATER Western Sydney tall Kristian Jaksch appears unlikely to get to his preferred club Carlton during the NAB AFL Trade Period, with talks between the Blues and Giants grinding to a halt.
AFL.com.au understands the door has opened for St Kilda and another Victorian club to ramp up negotiations with GWS, which has not made any progress in talks with Carlton.
The Blues, who are also negotiating with the Western Bulldogs to secure tall forward Liam Jones, hold draft selections No.7, No.28 and No.46, which has restricted them in talks with the Giants.
Blues, Dogs consider Adam Cooney trade
The Age, Jake Niall, Emma Quayle, Michael Gleeson
Carlton and the Western Bulldogs have had discussions about a potential trade involving Brownlow medallist Adam Cooney.
The clubs have spoken about a deal in which the Blues would secure out-of-contract Bulldogs forward Liam Jones, as well as Cooney and the Bulldogs' third-round pick, 45.
The Dogs are determined to move as high up the draft order as possible, and would receive Carlton's pick 28 in return.
That would leave them holding picks 6, 26, 27 and 28 - one of the strongest hands in a good draft - with the potential to package up some of those selections for a higher pick or two.
