“IT’S A great footy club.”
Jack Martin had to wait six extra weeks after trade period to pull on the Navy Blue guernsey. Then, after wearing it for the first time in Round 1, he had to wait 11 weeks for the next occasion.
Unsurprisingly, he’s keen to just get out there and win games of football for his club.
Given the way he started the season, it’s no surprise the talented forward has Saturday in his sights.
“After the whole process, the whole trade period, whether or not we were going to play Round 1 and finding out a couple of nights before, I’m just itching to get back out there and try and win some games,” Martin told AAP.
On the back of four goals in his first game, Martin and the Blues will return to action this Saturday at 4:35pm at Marvel Stadium.
He said the playing group was eager for the ball to be bounced against Melbourne.
“Everyone’s there to get better,” he said.
“They’re all self-driven… it’s an exciting group and I’m just excited to be part of it.”
In the full interview, Martin also spoke about his 18-hour road trip to the Gold Coast when isolation was confirmed, as well as his relationship with Eddie Betts.
