BLUES ruckman Matthew Kreuzer has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, after experiencing his second elevated heart-rate episode.
The 29-year-old is a late withdrawal from today's game against Fremantle after experiencing symptoms of a raised heart beat late yesterday. He'll be replaced by Nick Graham in the final 22.
Head of Football Andrew McKay said the Club would take a conservative approach to the management of the condition.
"Matthew experienced an elevated heart rate at training yesterday, a similar occurrence to what he dealt with a number of weeks ago," McKay said.
"Clearly with a condition of this nature, we need to treat it with caution so in conjunction with the specialists and Matthew, we have decided to rule him out for the remainder of the season."
"He will see the cardiologist again this week to determine the next step in his treatment. Importantly, Matthew is OK and all parties are treating this situation with the utmost care."
