The Blues’ young playing list was faced with a number of challenges in 2018 and as a result, finished the year with fewer wins than previous seasons.
However, the valuable experience gained by first and second-year players, coupled with the resilience built within the team, will no doubt hold the Club in good stead for years to come.
With the side now on a break, we’re analysing each player’s year in statistics. Here’s the review for Carlton’s No. 11, Sam Kerridge.

OVERVIEW
In his third season at the Blues, Sam Kerridge played ten senior games and also pulled on the jumper for the Northern Blues in the VFL.
Making his first AFL appearance in Round 5 against the West Coast Eagles at the MCG, the midfielder slotted an important goal through traffic to level the scores in the third quarter.
From Round 5 to Round 13, the 25-year-old managed eight consecutive games before a groin injury saw him sidelined for a number of weeks.
Making his return through the Northern Blues, Kerridge played against Frankston in Round 17 and was recalled to Carlton’s side in Rounds 21 and 23.
BEST PERFORMANCE
In Round 11 against the Swans, Kerridge collected 29 disposals, had 11 contested possessions and laid four tackles. Although the Blues didn’t get the win, Kerridge battled hard all day and made an impact around the contest.
SEASON HIGHLIGHT
Kerridge received an AFL Goal of the Week nomination for his long-range major against Adelaide in Round 23. Collecting the ball in the centre square, the quick-thinking midfielder alluded two Crows and accurately bombed the ball from 55 metres out.
