Carlton has signed Rhys Palmer from Greater Western Sydney on the final day of the AFL trade period.

Palmer, 27, became a Blue in exchange for pick 135, joining former Giant teammates Caleb Marchbank and Jarrod Pickett, who also arrived at Carlton on Thursday.

A 2008 Rising Star winner, Palmer has played 122 AFL games for Fremantle and GWS.
