Jarrad Waite commits to Carlton
The Carlton Football Club today announced that Jarrad Waite has re-signed with the Club.
“We are delighted that Jarrad has re-committed to the Blues. He has been a vital member of our team for a long time now and we see him playing an important part in our future,” said CEO Greg Swann.
“Jarrad is a fantastic clubman. While he has had an injury-interrupted couple of seasons, his attitude around the Club has been fantastic and he has already been working hard to ensure he enters the 2012 season fit and raring to go,” Swann added.
Waite has re-signed for a further three years ensuring he will be a Carlton player until at least the end of 2014.
“It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Club. We’ve committed to being a top four side in 2012 and I want to ensure I play an important role,” Waite said yesterday before leaving for Bali for his wedding to partner Jackie Spong.
“I have a deep connection to the Carlton Football Club, and with premiership success within reach, it was an easy decision to re-commit,” Waite added.
Waite was chosen with a father-son selection in the third round of the 2001 AFL National Draft, number 46 overall. He has played 143 games since making his debut in round 1, 2003.
