Kade Simpson answers your questions after the great win over Port Adelaide
Gutsy win Simmo well done! What was said by Ratts at 3 quarter time and what mind set did you guys went into the 4th quarter with?
KADE SIMPSON: Thanks Gokz. The message was not much different than usual, just to take the game on and to back our fitness in. We knew we had to take the game on because we were behind and had nothing to lose. Ratt’s is a very positive coach, and always encourages our group.

Thank you for being so loyal throughout the hard times. You deserve to enjoy these wins! Congratulations on the win today.
Having been through those dark days, what does today's win mean to you? Also, what does it mean to you to play for Carlton?
Thanks again!
KADE SIMPSON: Thanks Navy Blue, it’s my pleasure to play for such a club as Carlton. This win was right up there with last week’s against the Saints. To be interstate, behind at 3 quarter time and two men down it was a great effort by all the boys.
Ceri Webb - 6:13 PM Sunday, 16 May 2010
Hey Simmo, great win tonight. I was just wondering if, when playing interstate, do you notice how hostile the crowd is towards you? Also, what happened to Kane Lucas? You played a great game today!
Ceri xxx
KADE SIMPSON: Hey Ceri, you try not to notice the crowd to much, you just have to try and block those sort of things out and get on with the job. Kane “sugar” Lucas hurt his hamstring, not sure how bad; he will have scans on today.

Hi Simmo,
Just wanted to congratulate you and the side on a great win on Monday night and you backed it up today against Port!! Armfield, i thought had a great game! I have notice that you all have worked so hard on your fitness! I wear number 6 on my guernsey and I wear it with pride! Keep up the good TEAM work!!!
Jazz
KADE SIMPSON: Thanks Jazz, yeah all the boys are really fit and everyone is doing their part to help the team. Dennis played really well, shutting down one of Ports best players Danyle Pearce.
Louise - 6:39 PM Sunday, 16 May 2010
Great game today for you and the rest of the team. I have to say after today's game i am proud to wear my carlton gernsey and proud to wear your number on the back. Who is it that you get along with very well at the club?
KADE SIMPSON: Good on you Louise. All the boys are really good fellas which makes it really easy to get along with them and coming to the club everyday really enjoyable.
will - 6:42 PM Sunday, 16 May 2010
Is Dennis Armfield the fastest player in your team? If not who is?
KADE SIMPSON: Let me tell you Will, Dennis is very quick, we might need to have a race between him, Yaz and Jeffy to find out who the fastest is.
Grant - 6:49 PM Sunday, 16 May 2010
Hey Simmo,
Congratulations on an excellent season thus far, keep it up! What do you think we need to focus the most on to continue to improve the way we play? (apart from consistency)
KADE SIMPSON: Hi Grant, we need to keep improving in all areas if we want to play finals this year. The competition is so even and if you’re not switched on, you will not win. This even happens throughout games, a player might be caught ball watching and momentum can swing pretty quickly.
GB - 7:04 PM Sunday, 16 May 2010
Hi Kade,
Amazing win today especially seeing as the first three quarters were grinders. Did you and the team find it hard travelling interstate after such a short break and what did you do to try and combat that?
KADE SIMPSON: Hi GB, we new travelling over there it was going to be a tough game. Port are playing some really good footy and we knew it was going to take all four quarters to get over the line. We had a light week on the track, a lot of recovery. We kept the same travelling routine - flying over on Friday afternoon and back straight after the game.
Tony - 7:22 PM Sunday, 16 May 2010
Good game Kade! I see that you've opted for the sleeve-less guernsey over the long sleeves; is that because you've beefed up?
KADE SIMPSON: No real reasoning behind it Tony, there just hasn’t been to many cold days thus far. As soon as it’s cold and wet I’m sure you’ll see the long sleeve running around out there again.
Jeremy - 7:55 PM Sunday, 16 May 2010
Simmo, Great game from you and the whole team today!! Love it when you carry the ball and break the lines. I would love to know your opinion on the progress of JR? What a star he has become. He is so tough and reliable and so often beautifully clean by foot.
Also, who do you think out of our present squad could be the next big improver like JR. perhaps someone Grigg?
KADE SIMPSON: Thanks for the question Jeremy, Jordan has become a great player, some players just take a little bit longer than others but he is now showing why he was a high draft pick. I think Grigga could easily step into the senior side and have a big impact, as soon as he gets his ankle right, which should be in a week or two, hopefully he can take that next step.
Bianca - 8:07 PM Sunday, 16 May 2010
Hi Simo,
Murphy seems to be getting really hard tags lately Jones last week and this week Cornes, just wondering how he's going with this, because his stats in recent weeks have been a bit lower than usual. Also, will Gibbs ever get to play back on the ball or has his role changed now to playing half-back.
KADE SIMPSON: Good pick up Bianca. Murph is going well; he is getting a lot of attention because teams are realizing how good he really is. His touches might have dropped off a bit but he is playing a great role for the team by doing other things like filling up space and covering for other players. These are things that don’t get recognized and can be hard to pick up on TV.
SIMON F - 10:09 PM Sunday, 16 May 2010
Hi Kade, great win today very similiar to the 2008 win against Port where Kreuzer went forward and you boys took control in the last quarter. When you guys do the review have a look at Armfield's fantastic game and his run is amazing, maybe he should have a run through the midfield. Just want to know when you go interstate who do you room with? and why? and why do Russell and yourself have a kick to kick before the warm up?
KADE SIMPSON: Hi Simon, it was a great win by the boys and Dennis is playing really well and taking the game on with his speed which is great for the team. I room with Jordan Russell when we go interstate and we both like to just get out on the ground and have a run around and kick to get the legs going. It’s just a good routine that we are use to.
