With the sun shining brightly across Melbourne on Saturday, the weather couldn’t have been better for the Highgrove Community's family day, held at Clyde North.
Touted as ‘Spectacular Saturday’, the free event celebrated the opening of the display village, which features 27 display homes and showcases 12 of Melbourne’s most talented builders. The day also served to entertain the many residents that call the growing community home and to showcase the new Linear Park that was recently completed.
A large crowd turned up for the fun day out, including some familiar Carlton faces.
Blues players Jacob Weitering, Kristian Jaksch, Liam Sumner, David Cuningham, new recruit Jarrod Pickett, Andrew Phillips, Jesse Glass-McCasker and Matthew Korcheck held football clinics, while Captain Carlton and Navy Nina were on hand to take selfies and kick footies.

Carlton, in partnership with Brown Property Group and Orbit Homes, recently built and sold a home in the Highgrove community, with more than $30,000 from the sale of the home filtering back to groups within the City of Casey.
Those funds were handed over to a number of the local community groups on Saturday, including the Casey Cardinia Foundation, Cranbourne Information and Support Service, Berwick Netball Club, Skye United Football Club and Narre South Cricket Club.
Blues President Mark LoGiudice, along with Graham Nolan, Marketing Manager from Brown Property Group and Orbit Homes’ Sales and Marketing Director Paul Millson, presented the cheques to representatives from the community groups.
The day was a huge success, with everyone involved walking away with a smile on their face.
