OVERVIEW

A move to the Blues’ forward line presented a new opportunity for Stevens to prove herself on the playing field and it was a challenge she wholeheartedly embraced.

Stevens was able to quickly adapt to her new assignment, using her years of experience playing across half back to her advantage, perfectly combining a defensive and attacking mindset.

The 27-year-old continued with her impressive streak in the competition, still yet to miss a game since playing her first game with the Magpies in 2017.

After just one goal in her first three seasons, the former All Australian performed a valuable role for the Game Changers, providing a point of difference alongside Georgia Gee, Tayla Harris and Darcy Vescio.

BEST PERFORMANCE:

As part of the 2019 Grand Final team, Stevens was one of many Blues looking to prove a point against the Crows in Round 4.

In one of her standout performances for the year, Stevens crucial mix of attacking and defensive mindsets was an important cog in Carlton’s win over the 2019 premiers.

Stevens set the tone early on in the day, courageously going back with the flight of the ball to take a strong mark before kicking Carlton’s first goal of the day. After falling behind by three goals, it was an important moment for the Game Changers when Stevens delivered.

Carlton would eventually account for Adelaide by two goals, with Stevens finishing the day with nine disposals, three tackles and a goal.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT:

It wasn’t her first in the Navy Blue, but it will certainly be one to remember.

Stevens took time to adjust to her new role in the forward line, but she found her way onto the scoresheet in Round 3.

It would come against the Western Bulldogs, in a game where Stevens had also set up teammate Lauren Brazzale for a stunning goal from outside 50.

In another case of Stevens stepping up at the right time, she had to patiently wait until the fourth quarter for just the second goal of her AFLW career.

The goal couldn’t have come at a more crucial time, with the defender-turned-forward kicking a clutch goal into the breeze as the Blues accounted for the Bulldogs and sealed a victory in the third annual Pride Game.
