THE competition was hot, the verdict is in.

With Eddie Betts and Jack Martin on the show, it presented the perfect opportunity for the two to vote on their top five Indigenous players in VFL/AFL history.

The top two were similar, the following three showed the difference of opinion.

With both watching different eras of football, the decision was unanimous at the top of the order: Betts went for the Lance Franklin and Adam Goodes quinella, while Martin’s top two were inverted.

“[Buddy] has done it all… he’s going to go down in the top five players to ever play the game,” Betts said.

“It was hard to split between No.1 and No.2 but I went with Adam Goodes. Dual Brownlow Medallist, dual premiership player… he did it all.”

From there, Betts rounded his top five out with Michael Long, Gavin Wanganeen and Andrew McLeod.

Meanwhile, Martin was more than happy to give his new teammate a spot.

“My No.3 is Eddie Betts. I didn’t watch McLeod, I didn’t watch Michael Long,” he said.

“I can only go on the footy I’ve watched. 300-plus games, 600-plus goals, multiple All Australians, Goal of the Years.”
