Carlton Captain Chris Judd addressed the media at Visy Park on Monday following the players’ resumption of training for the New Year.

Flanked by Carlton President Stephen Kernahan, Judd read from the following statement;

“On behalf of the players we take full responsibility for the inappropriate behaviour at our pre-Christmas function.

We apologise to the various people and organisations associated with the Carlton Football Club and those impacted by the regrettable behaviour.

We understand the privilege and opportunity that comes with playing AFL football.

Whilst I can only offer words today, I pledge that our actions in the future will do justice to the commitment we have made to the Club.

Beyond today I feel optimistic and hopeful for the season ahead - the playing group is far fitter and stronger than at anytime I have been here and we are determined to produce a better season than last year.”
