“I THINK it’d be awesome.”
Levi Casboult has given his tick of approval for a potential return to suburban grounds for AFL premiership points in 2020.
As doubt remains around the resumption of the AFL season and its details, talk has begun about home-and-away games being played at venues such as Ikon Park where possible.
With no fans and the likelihood of fitting in games into a packed schedule, Casboult - a boyhood Bluebagger - said he’d love for home-and-away games to be played at the traditional home.
“I love going out to those ground, I love playing at Ikon Park every pre-season,” Casboult told media today.
“It’d be a great initiative that, if we can’t play in front of crowds, why not utilise those other facilities?
“I couldn’t speak for our away rooms because I’ve never been in them, but Ikon Park is pretty good!”
The fixture isn’t the only unknown that remains for this footy season, with Casboult quizzed about a potential new role when the games return.
Having shone as the lead ruckman against Richmond in the season opener, the veteran said he’d be open to taking on the role if the coaches saw fit.
“I guess that’s my niche in the team, I can be pretty flexible,” he said.
“I played ruck as a junior, right up until I was and 18 and then I didn’t get drafted. I was told I was a little bit on the smaller side as a ruckman.
“If something like two weeks ago happens to ‘Kreuz’, I feel more than comfortable that I can step up and fill a void there.”
