OVERVIEW
If 2019 was the season Gab Pound earned the reputation as a rock-solid defender, 2020 was the year she solidified it.
The Navy Blue No.6 backed up an All-Australian year with another ever-reliable campaign.

From getting told 'no' to running out in the first ever AFLW match: It's been a journey for Gab Pound.

The sight of Pound swooping on a loose ball or negating an opponent deep in defence has become a routine sight for Carlton fans.
She was one part of an impressive unit - alongside Kerryn Harrington and Mua Laloifi - on the last line of the Blues’ defence.
Rarely beaten and with the ability to turn defence into offence, the 25-year-old continued to be one of the Game Changers’ most consistent and reliable performers.
BEST PERFORMANCE
Carlton’s finals hopes were in the balance when they made the trip to Pound’s hometown in Alice Springs.
Fittingly, the 25-year-old turned it on.
Pound collected an equal career-high 16 disposals and was consistently there to thwart any Melbourne attack.
The result? A 16-point win that assured the Blues a second consecutive AFLW finals appearance.
SEASON HIGHLIGHT
The 100 per cent record remains.
Gab Pound ran out for her 25th game in Round 2 alongside inaugural Game Changers Alison Downie, Sarah Hosking and Darcy Vescio.
Come season’s end, they had all featured in 30 games in Navy Blue, having not missed a game since that famous night at Ikon Park in February 2017.
