THERE’S one game that sticks out from the 2019 season for Patrick Cripps.
It happened to be his 100th game, when Carlton defeated St Kilda by 10 points at the MCG.
However, it wasn’t the milestone which struck a chord for Cripps: rather, it was the 55,000 in attendance at the home of football.
As Carlton surpassed its membership record on Monday night, the co-captain said he and the playing group were full of love for the support of the faithful.
“All of the players are pretty pumped at the moment,” Cripps said on SEN.
“I felt it at the end of last year, some of the games we had… we had 55,000 there [against St Kilda] and it was a dead rubber.
“That was as loud as I’ve heard it. You could see the supporters getting pretty excited… we’re really excited about what the season holds for us.”

It doesn't get much better than this! #BoundByBlue
With today marking two weeks to go until the season opener, Cripps said the excitement was real and palpable at Ikon Park.
He said the AFL side was hoping to put on a show over the course of the 2020 season as reward for Bluebagger loyalty.
“The Bluebaggers are getting excited and signing up… we’re really excited about what the season holds for us,” he said.
“We play Brisbane this Sunday and then we’re all guns blazing for Richmond in Round 1. It’s not far away now.”
