IT'S going to be a Navy Blue weekend at Carlton's spiritual home this Saturday and Sunday.
The action kicks off on Saturday night, when the Game Changers host St Kilda in the third annual AFLW Carlton Respects game.
The Blues will be wearing orange socks: Carlton Respects utilises the colour orange as it is widely synonymous with harmony and respect. The players sport orange socks in the annual Carlton Respects games as the Club calls on the community to ‘Pull Your Socks Up’ in making a stand and take action for the prevention of violence against women.
The game will kick off at 7:10pm in the Club’s first AFLW clash against the Saints. Incidentally, St Kilda was the first Club which Carlton ever defeated at Ikon Park in the first VFL/AFL season of 1897.
After a successful win against reigning premiers Adelaide last week, the Blues will be looking to make it three wins in a row against one of the new additions to the AFLW competition.
Fans won’t have to wait long for the next clash, with Carlton’s AFL side taking on Brisbane for its second and final Marsh Community Series game on Sunday evening.
The game commences at 6:40pm and will be the last chance to see the boys in pre-season action prior to the AFL season.
With a number of key inclusions expected for Sunday's game, it will provide another opportunity for the Blues to tighten their skills and put themselves in good stead to face the reigning premiers in Round 1.
Clear your weekend: it’s all happening on Saturday and Sunday night at Ikon Park.
