THE Navy Blue faithful has made history, with still over two weeks until a ball is bounced in the 2020 AFL season.
The Club is proud to announce tonight that 64,270 Carlton members have signed up this year – breaking the all-time membership record that was set last season.
As it currently stands, the membership tally is incredibly 10,000 up from this time last year.
The Blues have also already signed 12,000 new members this season. This has been a major factor that has seen the Club become the first in the AFL to surpass its membership record in 2020.
Carlton CEO Cain Liddle, who announced the news in an email to members tonight, expressed the Club’s gratitude for their loyalty.
“There is no supporter base in the competition more resilient and more unreservedly passionate to support its football club through thick and thin than Carlton members,” Liddle said.
“They have rallied behind the All of Us mentality – a mindset centred around the fact that we all know where we want to get to as a football club but it is going to take All of Us to get there.
“As of 6pm this evening, to be 10,000 members up compared to the same time last year has us on track to chase down our 2020 target of 75,000 members.
“We could not be more appreciative of the support the Club has received from our members in helping us break this record well before Round 1.”
