Carlton players have trained at Visy Park ahead of Saturday's clash with Greater Western Sydney at Etihad Stadium.

Blues coach Mick Malthouse says his side will be paying plenty of respect to the Giants, who he expects will be hungry for a win.

"Our preparation has been no different to what it will be next week against Essendon. Our process this week is like every week."

"They (the Giants) are a good football side. Well coached, very enthusiastic. All the bits and pieces that you would expect from first grade picked players."

Much has been made of the Blues' new processes under Malthouse this year, but the Carlton coach says it has been just as much of a learning curve for him, as it has been for the team.

"I'm having to learn what they can do and feel comfortable with, and what they can't do and don't feel comfortable with."
