The 24-year-old came off late in the game against St Kilda, rolling his foot after stepping on an opposition player’s foot.
While McGovern took no further part in the game, Director of High Performance Andrew Russell hasn’t ruled out his availability for this weekend’s game.
“He came off and he was pretty sore after the game,” Russell said.
“He’s settling down really well and at this stage he is a chance to play, and will be a test later in the week.”

Veteran Marc Murphy continues to progress in his recovery from the broken ribs he sustained against the GWS Giants in Round 9.
Murphy has returned to running with his training expected to ramp up in the coming weeks, with a potential return on the horizon.
“Murphy is settling down really well,” he said.
“He’s pain-free now which is great, so we’re just waiting for those ribs to heal. He certainly won’t play this week, but we expect him to be back training next week.
“He’ll be a chance soon after.”
