OVERVIEW
In the first minute of Carlton’s Round 1 clash with Richmond, Dale Thomas dislocated his shoulder. The injury would hamper his entire 2015 season.
In a testament to his character, ‘Daisy’ recovered to play in Round 6, 7, 8 and 9, before conceding it was too painful to continue.

It was announced in June the midfielder would need a shoulder reconstruction, ruling him out for the rest of the year.
While he sat on the sidelines, Thomas got involved in community programs and activities, even signing on as Carlton’s ambassador for Multicultural Round.
We hope to see a fit Daisy Thomas in 2016!
HE SAID IT
“Since the first minute of Round 1 when the shoulder came out I’ve been trying to paint a better picture of what was really going on inside there. It got to the point where I couldn’t really get through a day of football training or living without the shoulder sliding in and out a couple of times.”
- Dale Thomas, speaking to Nova about the reality of his shoulder injury.
THEY SAID IT
"We had some advice from the specialist yesterday and came to the conclusion that he needs a shoulder reconstruction. This way at least we will be able to get him fit and get him right before the 2016 season and give him the opportunity to play some good footy next year."
- Carlton’s Head of Football Andrew McKay speaking about Thomas’ injury in June, when it was announced he required season-ending surgery.
SEASON HIGHLIGHT
Even with his troublesome shoulder Thomas was able to win Carlton’s goal of the week in Round 8 against Geelong. After crumbing the ball 30 metres out from goal and handballing it to Cam Wood, ‘Daisy’ followed up – receiving the ball back from Wood to snap a terrific goal at a critical stage of the game.
