The Carlton Football Club proudly boasts five Brownlow Medallists among its ranks: Bert Deacon (1947), John James (1961), Gordon Collis (1964), Greg Williams (1994) and Chris Judd (2010).

All of the Blues' Brownlow Medallists won the club's best and fairest in the same year they took out the League's highest individual accolade.

While Deacon, James and Collis won one Brownlow Medal each, Williams and Judd have something in common: they won their second Brownlow Medal at Carlton after winning their first at a previous club - Sydney (1986) and West Coast (2006) respectively.

Round-by-round voting for the Brownlow Medal was officially revealed for the first time in 1984. Originally the count was held in-hourse by the League and only the final vote totals were ever published.

When the count was finally broadcasted to the public for the time on the radio from 1959 and from 1970 telecasted on TV, all the votes were shuffled and the “1” votes were read out first, followed by the “2” votes and then the "3" votes.
