It is with great sadness that the Carlton Football Club acknowledges the passing of its former No.1 ticketholder Malcolm Fraser.
The 22nd Prime Minister of Australia was a dedicated and loyal supporter of the Carlton Football Club through his term in office and beyond, in the tradition of Sir Robert Menzies, who himself was a long and loyal supporter of the Club as its pre-emminent patron.
Mr Fraser was front and centre through Carlton's premierships in 1979, '81 and '82, and famously extended invitations to the back-to-back Carlton premiership players of '81 and '82 to The Lodge.
He never lost his love for Carlton and, together with his wife, was most recently a welcome guest at a Spirit of Carlton function convened three years ago at Etihad Stadium.
The Carlton Football Club extends its deepest sympathies to Tamie and the Fraser family on their profound loss.
