They’re back!

Carlton’s 1-4 year players have returned to the club this morning after a 10-week break. The alarm was set early, with players arriving at Ikon Park from 6:30am.

For Carlton’s new recruits including Liam Sumner, Sam Kerridge and Jed Lamb, it was the first chance to meet many of their new teammates.

Carlton’s new-look coaching panel including Neil Craig, Shane Watson, Tim Clarke and Dale Amos were also on deck for the first time, having one-on-one meetings with all the Blues’ young players.

With the formalities out the way it was down to business, with assessments, cardio, skills and weight sessions taking place throughout the day.

New recruit Jed Lamb took the cardio session in his stride, saying he’s feeling “pretty fit”.

“I came back early just so I could train really hard, I hoped to come back on day one in good nick,” Lamb said.

“I’ve still got a couple of weeks before I’m officially back – I just wanted to come into the club and get to know everyone.

“I’ve just finished my running session, which included some 40-metre sprints and 150-metre sprints – it was pretty tough, but it’s good to get that out the way!”

Carlton’s 4+ year players start the pre-season on Monday 23 November.
