CARLTON fans will be seeing double in 2018 when the Hosking twins run out in the navy blue for the second season of the AFLW campaign.
Sarah and Jess were recruited to the Blues at the end of 2016 and quickly became fan favourites before Jess’s campaign was crueled by an ACL injury which halted her debut for the Blues.
Speaking to the media after being unveiled as joint vice-captain for the AFLW 2.0 season, Sarah said she was excited to run out alongside her sister when the Blues face Collingwood at Ikon Park on Friday 2 February.
“I’ll make sure she’s looked after, don’t you worry!” Hosking laughed.
“But she’s obviously had a rough trot leading up to this year doing her ACL last season. She’ll be ready to go for Round 1 though and I’m just so excited to get out there with her and play alongside her.”
Hosking also praised the transition star recruits Tayla Harris and Nicola Stevens had made since crossing to the Blues in the first NAB AFLW Trade Period last year.
“They are both doing really well and they’ve slotted into our group seamlessly. They’re training really well out on the track. I guess we’re all just raring to go now,” she said.
“As a group we feel we’re really quite united and we’re ready for the challenge. There’s a really good urgency about the group at the moment.
“Last year we were in the development stages and if anything we’ve developed and built on last year. We’re learning new things out of that first season and we’re ready to hit the track harder than we ever have before.”
