Carlton will be celebrating a number of milestones when the Blues take on the Hawks at Etihad Stadium tonight.

Captain Marc Murphy will notch up his 200th AFL game and says the milestone means a lot.

"It's very dear to me – it's something when you walk into the club you look at the tiles as you walk past and see all the greats of our footy club who have played 200-games plus, so to be up alongside those blokes will be great," Murphy said.

The 2005 number one draft pick made his debut for the Blues in Round 1, 2006 against North Melbourne and hasn't looked back. In 2005 he went on to be named the AFLPA’s Best First Year Player, showing early signs of the leadership qualities that would one day see Murphy installed as Carlton's captain.

In his 200 games Murphy's accolades have included All Australian selection in 2011, Carlton’s Best and Fairest in 2011, runner-up in the John Nicholls Medal three times (2008, 2009 and 2014), and he has been Carlton’s captain since 2013.

The skipper will also reach a milestone with his father John Murphy tonight. The pair will notch up a combined total of 446 games, taking them level with Michael and Travis Tuck at ninth in the game's history for the most father/son combined games.

Also reaching a milestone tonight is Carlton big man Levi Casboult.

Casboult will play his 50th AFL game since being recruited to Carlton from the Dandenong Stingrays with pick 44 in the 2010 Rookie Draft.

"I'm really excited about playing my 50th game and it will be extra special to be sharing it with Murph for his 200th – it means I can fly under the radar a little bit!" Casboult said.

The 25-year-old made his AFL debut in Round 17, 2012 against the Western Bulldogs. Since then he has become known for having some of the best hands in football, and for the past three seasons has been ranked inside the top 10 in the league for contested marks per game – he currently sits fifth overall this season.

Meanwhile the next goal the Casboult kicks will mark his 50th AFL goal.
