AFL.com.au's Warnie, Calvin and Roy bring you the Round 1 AFL Fantasy wrap:
Last Week’s Events
Tom Bell (MID, $401,000) was the Blues leading scorer in the season opener with 108 from 25 touches and an impressive seven tackles. He was closely followed by Defender Sam Docherty (DEF, $459,000) on 107 from 23 possessions and eight marks. Kade Simpson (DEF, $523,000) once again showed why he is one of the safest options in our back-line with 97 and Bryce Gibbs (MID, $571,000) was solid for 96. Unfortunately Marc Murphy (MID, $531,000) was kept very quiet, managing just 67 from 21 disposals.
On The Radar
Sam Docherty has put his hand up for selection in the back-line after many Fantasy defenders under-performed this week. He is priced at $459,000 and has a break-even of 60. Troy Menzel (FWD, $296,000) enjoyed more time up the ground than last year and his score of 81 reflected that. At that price, he is bound to make a lot of money in the coming weeks as he currently has a break-even of just 30.
What’s Coming Up?
Hopefully the game against the Eagle this week can help Marc Murphy find his best form. Last time they met, Murph absolutely dominated with 32 touches, five marks and 11 tackles for a whopping 146. Bryce Gibbs and Kade Simpson will also look to back up their strong starts to the year after scoring 121 and 105 respectively in the most recent hit out.
We’re offering a special bonus for Carlton fans this season, with the skipper, Marc Murphy, setting up his own special celebrity league! Believe us, he’s in it to win it!
