Congratulations to our very own Patrick Cripps who has been named in the AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 team, capping off an incredible year for the 20-year-old.

The 22Under22 concept was introduced in 2013 to recognise the best young talent in the competition, as decided by the fans.

An initial 47-man squad was announced on 26 August, with the final side named at the AFL Players’ MVP Awards on Tuesday night.

‘Crippa’ was named in the midfield alongside Docker Lachie Neale, Western Bulldog Marcus Bontempelli, Giant Adam Treloar and Port Adelaide’s Ollie Wines.

In the 20 games he’s played for Carlton this year, the 194cm midfielder has averaged 23.6 disposals and 6.65 clearances. There’s no doubt Cripps’ breakout season is the result of the hard work he has put in since arriving at Carlton in 2013.

A fortnight ago the country boy from Northampton in WA won the 2015 Chris Judd Development Academy Award and last week he came a close runner-up in the AFL’s Rising Star award.

Blues fans across the country can’t wait to see what ‘Crippa’ can achieve in 2016 – the future definitely looks bright.
