Carlton young gun Troy Menzel says he would relish the chance to push into the midfield this season.
Menzel has 19 AFL games to his name since being recruited to Carlton with pick 11 in the 2012 National Draft.
The 20-year-old has been utilised as a forward by the Blues so far, but he has told the AFL's First Bounce he's hoping to make the move to the middle of the ground.
"Yeah I would definitely love to push through the midfield," Menzel said.
"With the likes of Murphy, Gibbs, Judd and Carrazzo it's definitely a hard midfield to crack, but if I got some time through there this year then I would be rapt."

Carlton has been fine tuning its forward line over the pre-season and it's set to look significantly different when the team runs out for Round 1 of season 2015.
Menzel says he's confident the Blues will have plenty of firepower.
"I think you will find Lachie Henderson will play a bit more time up forward this year," he said.
"We've picked up the likes of Liam Jones and Jason Tutt, so they will definitely come in handy, and maybe some young guys like Clem Smith and Blaine Boekhorst – who have shown a little bit in the NAB Cup – could snag a few as well."
