OVERVIEW

After beginning the year up forward and kicking three goals in the Round 2 clash with Collingwood, Walker turned swingman and moved to Carlton’s backline.

Many would argue the 27-year-old has been in career-best form in 2013, which isn’t over for Walker, who will be travelling to Ireland with the Indigenous All-Stars for the International Rules series.

Walker notched up his 150th AFL game in Carlton’s Round 8 win over Port Adelaide, sharing the milestone with skipper Marc Murphy who also played his 150th and Heath Scotland who ran out for his 250th AFL match.

THEY SAID IT

Walker’s had some tough times with his shoulders over the past few years, he could have almost played 200 by now. He’s such a hard worker and a versatile player. A couple of years ago he was our leading goal-kicker and now he’s probably our best backman. He’s been a real bright light for us this year.” – Marc Murphy on Walker’s 150th milestone, Saturday 18 May.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

Walker has been named as a finalist in the AFL’s Goal Of The Year, for a spectacular running goal in the Round 7 match against St Kilda. After gathering the ball on the backline, Walker bounced four times, before an accurate kick from 50m out.
