Following Tuesday’s rookie draft, the Carlton Football Club can officially confirm guernsey numbers for the 2011 season.

The club has now allocated the following numbers to the newly drafted rookies - Ed Curnow (35), Wayde Twomey (39), Mitchell Carter (47) and Blake Bray (48), with Rhys O’Keeffe retaining number 20.

In November the Club allocated the numbers 10, 15, 16, 24, 25, 26 and 34 to new recruits Matthew Watson, Jeremy Laidler, Andrew Collins, Patrick McCarthy, Luke Mitchell, Andrew McInnes and Nick Duigan respectively.

In other jumper number changes, Kane Lucas will move from number 24 down to number 9, a number he wore as a junior. The move also sees him join six other first round draft picks in a single digit number.

And a Premiership family connection sees Brock McLean change numbers from 7 to 14. Brock’s Grandfather, Rod McLean, wore number 14 on 128 occasions between 1935 and 1946 including in the 1938 and 1945 Premiership teams, while his Uncle, Ricky McLean wore the guernsey number  in 19 matches between 1966 and 1971.

*Please note - The Carlton Football Club had offered to keep the number 16 guernsey on hold in anticipation of drafting Dylan Buckley, however Dylan advised the Club that he wished to forge his own history with Carlton and requested that another number be allocated to him.
