OVERVIEW
After a promising debut season, it was a season of learning and development for Paddy Dow in his second year in Navy Blue.
Playing 19 senior games in 2019, Dow showed signs of his raw potential as a member of Carlton’s young and emerging midfield group.
A consistent performer for the Blues, Dow maintained a respectable average of 14.3 disposals and 2.6 clearances a game for his efforts through the centre.
Late in the season, Dow featured across half forward, collecting 19 disposals and a goal in the penultimate game of the year.
BEST PERFORMANCE
Dow made a strong start to his 2019 campaign, with his best showing coming in the Carlton’s Round 2 clash with Port Adelaide.
The second-year Blue was a strong performer through the centre, racking up 23 disposals and a goal at Adelaide Oval to see the Blues get within striking distance of the Power.
His five clearances for the day went a long way to Carlton finding an avenue inside 50, putting in a big shift at the centre bounce alongside skipper Patrick Cripps and up-and-comer Sam Petrevski-Seton.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT
Dow showed his big-game credentials in Round 13, donning the orange socks in the Carlton Respects game.
While the Blues fell agonisingly short to the Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium, Dow contributed to a valiant second-quarter comeback from the hosts.
A crafty dribble on the run saw the young Blue notch his first goal for the day to get Carlton back within 21 points of the Western Bulldogs.
THEY SAID IT
VFL senior coach Josh Fraser was quick to praise Dow’s commitment and drive in an episode of Carlton Coaches’ Corner.
“We encourage all of our young players to play to their strengths. He was able to win the ball in close and use some of his power out of congestion and stoppage,” Fraser said of his first VFL performance.
