Competitive banter, a few amateur swings and plenty of laughter made Carlton’s annual corporate golf day one to remember.
Held at Eynesbury Homestead and Golf on Thursday and sponsored by Ikon Services, the fun-filled day saw Carlton players, club officials and sponsors unite for some healthy competition.
Blues players including Sam Kerridge, Jed Lamb, Ciaran Byrne, Blaine Boekhorst, Harry McKay, Ciaran Sheehan, Andrew Gallucci and Matt Korcheck represented the playing squad, while former Carlton stars Adrian Gleeson, Mil Hanna, Ian Aitken and Michael Jamison also hit form.
While the two Irishmen impressed on the fairway, it was former club great Ian Aitken who outclassed his younger counterparts to strike the longest drive.
Carlton assistant coach Dale Amos triumphed among his fellow assistant coaches Shane Watson and John Barker to win nearest to the pin.
Representatives from club sponsors CareerOne, Ikon Services, ZTE and Nike held their own among the athletes, but it was Smash Enterprises’ Jason Harbinson who prevailed overall to lead his team to victory after 18 holes.
With balls landing on the green outnumbering those that neared the bunker, the day in Eynesbury was well and truly on par.
