The Blues proved no match for the Saints at the MCG on Sunday, going down by 71 points on a difficult day for the Carlton faithful.
Despite the heavy loss, these were the stats which caught the eye:
Zach Tuohy
Career-high 3 goals
Zach Tuohy’s super boot was in full force against the Saints. Despite the Blues scoring just seven goals, Tuohy booted a career-high three majors – all from beyond 50m - to provide the highlights on a regrettable afternoon for the Carlton faithful.

Kade Simpson
Career-high 33 uncontested possessions
On a day where the Blues farewelled 30-year-old Andrew Walker, it was the man two years his senior who was arguably Carlton’s best. Veteran Kade Simpson gave it everything once again, collecting a career-high 33 uncontested possessions from his game-high 39 possessions. He also had a team-high four intercept marks.
Patrick Cripps
Game-high 17 contested possessions
Patrick Cripps took the honours yet again for contested possessions, with his 17 four higher than next best Jade Gresham. The 21-year-old is currently ranked fifth in the league for total contested possessions (290) behind Lachie Neale (307), Josh Kennedy (303), Patrick Cripps (300) and Matt Priddis (295).
Sam Docherty
Game-high 648m gained
St Kilda beat Carlton comprehensively in metres gained (6261-5176), a statistic used to determine which side is best at moving the ball forward. Despite this, Sam Docherty gained the most territory of any player on the ground with a whopping 648m.
Bryce Gibbs
Team-high 8 score involvements
Bryce Gibbs was involved in half of the Blues’ 16 scores, with his team-high eight score involvements a commendable feat given Carlton’s lack of potency in attack.
