Carlton’s No. 10 draft pick, Harry McKay, has returned to the Blues’ primary list after recovering from a stress reaction in his back.
The 200cm forward was placed on Carlton’s long-term injury list in March and sidelined for 12 weeks, after complaining of discomfort during a training session.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Carlton’s senior coach Brendon Bolton praised the 2015 draftee for his work ethic while he has been sidelined.
“He’s been fantastic…he’s really focused on learning and being a student of the game, in fact he’s been as good as any first-year player I’ve seen try to study and understand the game whilst he’s been injured,” Bolton said.
"He'll play some footy this week and we think we've got a talent there, but it's going to take some time because he's just been reintroduced to football."
Harry played one pre-season game for Carlton against Essendon at Ikon Park, kicking a goal in his first outing as a Blue.
Ruckman Cam Wood will now be placed on Carlton’s rookie list.
