As Carlton prepares to run out onto the MCG for the final time this season, Blues’ assistant coach Dale Amos says he’s “had a ball” watching the playing group develop and grow this year.
After moving from the Geelong Football Club to the Blues at the end of 2015, Amos was appointed Carlton’s backline coach – a role he’s thoroughly enjoyed and thrived in.
“Having come from a successful culture at Geelong and a club that has won premierships, I have enjoyed this year as much as any year I’ve had in footy to be honest,” Amos said.
“It’s been great to see the development and growth of the playing group, and probably us collectively as coaches being a new group too.”
Amos has not only been excited by progress in the football department, but also the Club as a whole.
“The growth of the Club has also been really positive – there’s been some really exciting things happening, you can just see things moving in the right direction.
“I’ve had a ball this year, it’s been a lot of fun.”
Carlton has one more game left in the home and away season, taking on the Bombers this Saturday afternoon at the MCG.
The Blues will be hoping to replicate their performance against the Dees last week, after walking away 20-point winners.
Amos says it was a “good response” by the players after a few dissatisfying matches.
“It was a good response off the back of a couple of really disappointing weeks,” he said.
“We were pleased to put the amount of pressure we did on Melbourne, and it was great to get the result after nine pretty lean weeks.”
Carlton takes on the Bombers this Saturday at the MCG, with the match kicking off at 2:10pm.
