Skillful midfielder Rhys Palmer will add experience and leadership to the Blues’ line-up in 2017 after being traded to Carlton.
The former No.7 draft pick was initially recruited to Fremantle in 2007, before making his way to the Giants at the end of 2011.
Since making his debut in Round 2, 2008 v Hawthorn, Palmer has played a combined 122 games for the Dockers and Giants, and kicked 95 goals.
The 27-year-old made an immediate impact in his first year, playing 20 games with an average of 23.1 disposals. His efforts earned him a rising star nomination in Round 8, before ultimately taking home the overall award at the end of the season.
His hard run, work ethic and appetite for the contest will make him a valuable player for the Blues in 2017.
