OVERVIEW
Jeb Lamb was one of four Giants who made his way to Ikon Park during the trade period last year.
After powering through a gruelling pre-season, the forward made his Carlton debut in Round 1 against Richmond at the MCG.
Lamb went on to play 15 games for the Blues, a career-high since entering the AFL system.
In the Blues’ Round 11 win against Brisbane, Lamb collected 13 disposals, booted three goals and had a game-high four one percenters.
On three occasions in Rounds 4, 11 and 15, the 23-year-old was awarded Carlton’s ‘Goal of the Week’, with his pressure in the forward 50 a trademark of his game.
Currently sitting on 37 AFL games, Lamb will be hoping to reach his 50-game milestone in 2017.
HE SAID IT
“I was pretty happy with my first hitout, my tackling pressure was pretty good, I want to bring that to Carlton and try to cement my spot. I’m trying to work on my defence – ‘Bolts’ wants me to be a bit of a pest in the forward line."
- Lamb speaks to Carlton Media at training in the week following the first NAB Challenge game against Hawthorn.
THEY SAID IT
“Jed started the game heavily involved offensively, and was used in a couple of different roles. With it being his first game at the level in quite some time, he adjusted well and will build from here.”
- Northern Blues coach Josh Fraser praised Lamb’s professionalism whenever the forward made a number of appearances at VFL level.
SEASON HIGHLIGHT
In Round 12 against St Kilda, Lamb’s spectacular tackle on Saint Jimmy Webster was awarded Carlton’s ‘Tackle of the Week’. Not only did Lamb throw Webster to the ground, his second effort to smother the ball out of play was outstanding.
