The Carlton Football Club congratulates Director Kate Jenkins on her appointment as the federal Sex Discrimination Commissioner.
The appointment reflects Jenkins’ focus on gender equality that she brought to her role as VEOHRC Commissioner.
Her body of work, which continues to be implemented at the Commission, includes the Independent Review into sex discrimination and sexual harassment (including predatory behaviour), within Victoria Police, the review into the AFL’s existing policies and processes regarding the treatment of women, as well as the upcoming review into equity and gender within the MFB and CFA.
Carlton president Mark LoGiudice wished Jenkins every success in her new role.
“On behalf of everyone at the Carlton Football Club I’d like to congratulate Kate on her appointment,” LoGiudice said.
“Since joining our Board of Directors, Kate has been leading the way with our community and diversity strategies.
“As we continue to strengthen our diverse culture at Carlton, there’s no doubt Kate is a great asset to our club.”
Jenkins joined Carlton’s eight-person Board of Directors in October last year.
