Approximately 30 young female footballers participated in the Women’s Come & Try Day.

The clinic was held at Preston City Oval during perfect weather conditions for girls ages between 13- 18.

It was the first time that some of participants had been involved in a football training session, with participants undertaking specialized drills conducted by representatives from the Victorian Youth Girls under-18 squad.

The South Morang youth girls team were well represented on the day.

Blues defender Nick Duigan attended and was impressed with the talent and enthusiasm.

"Today marks a big day for female football development," Duigan said.

Following the Women’s Come & Try Day, a state screening session was held where 18 girls were invited into the Victorian State squad to train with the Victorian team.
